Finding Ground

If when wrapped in confusion,

we can step with a confidence.

We might feel the crunch of snow

settling a dangerous glare of ice.

Everywhere it seems a general fear,

those that we love trapped indoors.

A wonderfully elegant neighbor,

lives with his family in caution.

Without his work badge and uniform

he fears being abducted in the street.

In a grocery store filled with hunger

he told me he was tired of fast food.

We stood on snow today burying ice,

and will do the same tomorrow as

We share a goal to know kindness.
